The Waterloo Times Oct 22, 1915 CHURCH WEDDING IN COLUMBIA TUESDAY A pretty church wedding took place in the Catholic Church at Columbia Tuesday morning, Oct 19, 1815, when Miss Anna Wecker, daughter of Louis Wecker of near Fish Lake was married to Mr. Ben Toenjes, son of Henry Toenjes of New Hanover Station. Rev. H. Goosens officiated. They were attended by Miss Josie Wecker, a sister, and Mr. George Mosbacher a cousin of the bride. The bride was attired in a white satin dress t! rimmed with Irish lace, beads and orange blossoms. Her maid wore a fran white silk trimmed with white silk chiffon. After the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Joe Ritter, where an excellent wedding breakfast was served after which they came to Waterloo on the car where they had their pictures taken. When they returned home a splendid dinner was served and the balance of the day was spent in dancing and making merry. In the evening they were serenaded and the dance was kept up until a late hour. The young couple went to housekeeping at the home of the groom’s parents. The best wishes of their many friends are extended the newlyweds.
