The Waterloo Times Friday, October 29, 1915 Celebrate Silver Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Voris celebrated their silver wedding anniversary last Saturday evening at their home in this city. While it was intended for a repetition of the original wedding and strictly “family affair,” yet when one sees all the relations assembled, there was quite a large gathering present. On October 23, 1890, Mr. H.C. Voris and Miss Letha M. Brey were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Brey in this city, Rev. J. Nollau being the officiating clergyman. Last Saturday completed the 25th year of their married life and a family reunion was planned and carried out successfully in celebration of the happy event. As near as possible all the guests who were present at the wedding twenty-five years ago, were invited to be present at this time. Of course there were also a few others. Some of became related to these former guests by marriage and quite a few who became related by birthright. There was room for all, however, and the evening was spent in feasting and making merry. An excellent luncheon was spread, and the Peerless Orchestra rendered several splendid musical selections which were greatly enjoyed by the guests. The happy couple received quite a number of handsome and costly presents in commemoration of the event. Among those present were: Oscar Cramer and family, Charles Brey and wife, Don C. Voris and wife, and Mr. Kasting all of St. Louis, A.B. Pinkel, wife and daughter Miss Pearl, Mrs. Sophia Brey, Mrs. Z.J. Voris, Charles Morrison and family and Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Herron of this city. The Times joins the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Voris in wishing them health, happiness and prosperity, and hopes to be able to chronicle the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary twenty-five years hence.
