Miss Anita Werling of St. Louis spent Sunday at the parental home here. Miss Audrey Siegel of St. Louis spent the weekend with Miss Marie Krack. William Burkhardt of St. Louis spent Sunday with Sheriff Burkhardt and family. Mr. and Mrs. Peter R. Mueller of Valmeyer were Waterloo visitors Monday. Mrs. Henry Boekhoff of Red Bud was the guest of Mrs. T.J. Cahill Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schorr of St. Louis were the guests of relatives here Sunday. Oscar Bilzing of Valmeyer was a Waterloo visitor Thursday afternoon of last week. Rev. Paul Schult and Albert Hoffmann of Maeystown were Waterloo visitors Saturday. Peter Hoffmann, the Columbia bricklayer, was a Waterloo visitor Sunday afternoon. Stephen A. Milesof Valmeyer was a Waterloo caller Monday and added his name to our list. Joseph Linnemann of Columbia was a Waterloo visitor Tuesday and renewed his subscription. Peter Eisenbart of Red Bud spent Tuesday here the guest of his brother, County Clerk Henry Eisenbart. F.M. Brickey of Prairie du Rocher came up in his auto Sunday afternoon for a short visit with friends here. Fred W. Peter Bickelhaupt of St. Louis was a Waterloo visitor Tuesday and dropped in for a short chat with ye editor. Mrs. Robert Ebert and daughter Miss Ruth of St. Louis spent Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Brust. Leroy J. Proctor of Prairie du Rocher route 3 was among our callers Monday and had some horse posters printed. Mens VanBuren and wife and George Niebruegge of Valmeyer were Waterloo visitors Monday. They came in Mens’ auto. George Collette of near Prairie du Rocher was a county hub visitor Friday and dropped into our office to renew his subscription. John Acker, Jr., visited his daughter, Mrs. Kate Murphy, and son William J. Acker in Chicago last week. He spent a very enjoyable time. Herman Schneider of Floraville, who has been attending the Agricultural school at Normal the past several months, returned home Friday. Postmaster Fred Henckler and C. W. Breidecker, of Columbia, were in town Saturday to attend the meeting of the Democratic Central Committee. Frank Huey, agent for Standard Oil Company, at Waterloo, was guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Huey south of town the first of the week, - Sparta Plaindealer. Thomas Cahill of Renault and J.I. Powderly of Fults, both spent the weekend at home and both were doctoring up severe colds while enjoying their two days rest. Rudolph Klein, John Kohnz, Henry Feldmeier and George Edler, all of Chalfin Bridge, came up in Mr. Kohnz’s machine Friday to transact business at the county hub. Roy Hays was in St. Louis Monday attending the meeting of the Ford Automobile salemen. Fifteen hundred of the company’s salesmen were present and had a big time. Mrs. Charles Wishmeyer and daughter Margaret, Miss Barbara Klein and Mr. and Mrs. William Lohkamp spent Sunday in East St. Louis with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt. Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffmann and son Irvin of St. Louis, Henry Hesteberg and wife and Mike Reitz and wife of this city, spent Sunday with George F. Hoffmann and family at Georgetown. Henry Saner of Hecker was among our callers Wednesday and renewed his subscription. Mrs. Margaret Fischer and family spent the weekend in St. Louis visiting relatives and friends. Clayton King and Miss Irene Echele of St. Louis were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Robyn. Mrs. Siegfried and baby of Red Bud were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Faherty and family Sunday. Herman Kettler, clerk of road district No. 6 New Hanover, was a Waterloo visitor Wednesday. Philip P. Ludwig and son Freddie, and William Jehling of Fountain were county hub callers Wednesday. Harry Pryer and Nick Andres of Valmeyer, route 2, dropped in to renew their subscriptions Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kemper, son Mike and daughter Mary, of Kemper’s Landing were Waterloo visitors Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. William A. Boschert of Washington Boulevard, St. Louis, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Robyn Sunday. Charles Klingelberg of Maeystown was in town Monday and stopped off at this office for a short chat. After his sale is over he intends to locate in California most likely at Los Angeles.
