The Waterloo Times Friday, April 23, 1915 Surprise Party A jolly affair was the surprise tendered Mrs. Gus Conrad of near Burksville, Saturday evening, it being her birthday. Vogel’s band led the crowd and after serenading her all were welcomed inside where the room was quickly cleared and dancing begun. Plenty of eats and drinks were served and everybody had bushels of fun. The guests, about fifty in number, departed as at late hour, wishing Mrs. Conrad many more such happy birthdays. Gus and his wife are a jolly couple, and believe in everyone having a good time.
