In Memoriam

In Loving memory of Herman W. C. Mueller, my dear husband, and our dear father, father-in-law and grandfather who departed this life one year ago, April 6, 1914.

One year has passed our hearts still sore.
As time goes on we more you more.
Your loving smile your welcome face
None can fill your vacant place.
We miss your coming footstep,
We miss you everywhere.
Home is not what is used to be
Since our dear Father is not here.
From his pure lips the cheerful smile
Could not by death be driven,
And with a hope of cheerful bliss
He passed from earth to Heaven.
It was hard to part with you, dear father
Oh, so hard to have you die.
There is no one who can tell
What is it to bid Father good-bye.
Sleep on dear father and take they rest, 
‘Twas God who called you and he knows best.
Rest in peace, they work is done,
We are coming one by one.
