Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schneider celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Sunday which occurred Friday, April 24th. Congratulations. Wedding Anniversaries – April 9, 13th for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Birkner; April 14, 1st for Mr. and Mrs. John Platzkoester; April 29, 1st for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Braun; April 30, 1st for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Parker. The sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended to the husband, children and relatives of Mrs. Elmer Rettinghouse, nee Miss Louisa Emery, who passed away Sunday. May she rest in peace. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kreher, Sr., the past week were John Schilling and daughter, Mrs. Mathilda Fauss of Waterloo, Emerich Kreher, Jr. of Smithton, Mrs. Mary Kreher and daughter Mrs. Oscar Birkner, Mr. and Mrs. John Pautler and son Dickie of Ft. Gage, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kreher, Joseph H. Schilling, Rev. B. Loepker, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Braun of St. Louis, Mrs. Joseph A. Pautler and daughter Cecelia and son Herbert of Evansville and their children and grandchildren. Grandpa Kreher is very weak at the present writing. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wittenauer and family celebrated Sunday in honor of their oldest son Henry Wittenauer. Some of those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Engelerth and baby Jeanette of Millstadt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Neff, Mr. and Mrs. John Wittenauer and family, Emil Wittenauer and Clement, Delbert, Walter Wittenauer, Jr., Rita, Marie, Mary Anne, Francis and Rose Mary Wittenauer. Walter Wittenauer Jr., spent Thursday evening with William H. Lohrberg.
