The Waterloo Republican Thursday, March 8, 1900 HARRISONVILLE Born Feb. 22nd to Charles Meyer and wife a ten pound girl. Hayden James and wife, of St. Louis, are visiting his mother Mrs. Irene James. Mrs. Frank Meyer who has been quite sick for the past ten days is somewhat improved at this writing. Owing to bad weather Administrator Niebruegge postponed the date of sale of F. C. Rohlfing’s estate until March 10th. Mrs. Lizzie Rohlfing and Mrs. William Thompson each received the amount due them from M. W. of A. lodge last week. The claim of Mrs. Thompson was only filed 16 days when she received her remittance. This certainly was as prompt as any insurance company could have been. The river kept us shut off from the outside world for three or fours days last week and coupled with this was the damage done by the snow storm which thus far rendered the telephone line hors de combat. A new war board could have been easily organized among our citizens during those days. Nathan Williams held his sale Saturday and disposed of most of his effects and will move to Kirkwood, Mo. Soon. Uncle Nathan has lived here many years and is well and favorably known, belonging as he does to that class of colored citizens who existed in days of chivalry and Southern powers.
