The Waterloo Times November 12, 1915 CHURCH WEDDING AT WARTBURG SUNDAY A pretty church wedding took place in the Evangelical Lutheran church of Wartburg last Sunday afternoon when Miss Minnie Buettner became the bride of Mr. Fred Althoff, Rev. Schuessler officiating. Misses Eleanora Althoff and Anna Fauss acted as bridesmaids and Edward Buettner and Philip Althoff were the groom’s best men. Teacher Theo. Scheiwe played the wedding march on the church organ. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Buettner and is a popular young lady with many friends. The groom is a son of John Althoff and is one of our hustling young farmers. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the home of the bride’s parents where an elegant supper and refreshments were served to the many guests present. Music was furnished by the Wartburg mandolin and guitar club. The young couple went to housekeeping at once on the John Althoff farm near Wartburg, Their many friends join the Times in extending congratulations and wish them many years of wedded bliss.
