Miss Lydia Hill who is employed in East St. Louis spent Sunday at home visiting relatives and friends. Peter Steiger and Frank Homrighausen were in our town last Saturday looking after the interest of the highways. George Neff while sawing wood one day last week was accidentally struck on the head which sent him to the ground. He is O.K. now. Louis Armstutz and H. M. Hill took a walk over to Klein school house last Saturday night to a literary. When they arrived the house was so crowded they could hardly enter. Mr. George Leipold and Miss Katie Steiger were married last week and moved to Hecker last Monday. They may be found at their home on what was formerly known as Goose Avenue. May, joy peace and happiness crown their efforts is our wish. Mr. Vanfelt of New Athens was one of the merry makers at the literary last Saturday night. He kept the audience in good spirits by telling them how he learned to love and obey his teacher when he was a boy. He also imitated the experiences of a boy and a bald-headed man on a train. We are waiting for his appearance again.
