The Waterloo Republican February 22, 1900 Harrisonville Mrs. Frank Meyer is on the sick list. Simon Schorr was here on business Monday. Father Feschburg visited St. Louis the first of the week. Alex Crook was in the city Tuesday of last week on business. Henry Tincleman was in St. Louis on business the early part of the week. Dr. Lee was in St. Louis on professional business last Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Wm. Bode returned home Monday after a pleasant visit of ten days among relatives and friends at the county seat. William is now as happy “as a big sunflower that bends and bows in the breezes.” William Ewald, Monroe’s representative at Ann was here visiting friends and relatives last week. Will is well liked in his present position and has many friends here are pleased that such is the case. The river here, owing to floating ice was absolutely impassable from Friday until Monday. Nelson Johnson, Uncle Sam’s oompetent representative here made repeated efforts to cross but met with failure until Monday morning. Mrs. Wm. Bamber returned home from St. Louis via Waterloo Monday and reports her sister Mrs. H. Hansard as little improved in health. She was accompanied by Chas. Brey who is fond of our country and the beautiful scenery surrounding our village. He certainly pursues in totis virubus style anything he desires. The Mutual Protective League was organized here by the State Deputy Vice-president Livingstone Saturday with membership of 25. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year: J. G. Schneider president, H.C. Nieman vice-president, S.H. McCormick, secretary, E.J. Lee Treasurer, Wm. Mosbacher advisor, Jacob Kohnz in war guard, H.S. Guttman, sentinel, J.R.
