The Waterloo Times June 11, 1915 DAN CUPID CAPTURES MONROE TEACHERS A pretty church wedding took place last Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock in the Hartmann church at St. Joe, Illinois. Charles Sprankel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sprankel of near St. Joe, and Miss Hulda Fauss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fauss of Burksville, were united in holy wedlock. Rev. Baumgaertel performed the ceremony. The groom’s best men were Messrs. Edwin Fauss and Ernst Prauge and the bridesmaids-were Misses Meta Hoffmann and Ida Mueller. The bride was attired in a white dress of silk messaline trimmed with Oriental Lace. She carried two bouquets, one of bridal roses and the other, lilies of the valley. A spray of orange blossoms crowned her veil. The bridesmaids wore appropriate silk dresses of a pink and blue hue, respectively. The groom was donned in a blue serge suit, while his attendants wore gray. After the wedding ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the groom’s parents, where an excellent wedding supper had been prepared. In the evening a wedding dance was held in Eueschel’s hall at Burksville, and it was crowded to its utmost capacity with friends of the young couple. The hall had been appropriately decorated by members of the Young Men’s Social Club, of which the groom is one, with Japanese lanterns, crepe streamers and roses. The music was furnished by Stein and Reis and it was not until the early hours of morning that the affair broke up. The bride is one of our successful school teachers in this county, while the groom is a prominent farmer. The young couple will go to housekeeping on the Juelfs farm in the Bottom. Charlie and his estimable spouse believe in starting housekeeping right, so they will be posted every week with Monroe County news through the columns of the Times. We join in with their many friends in wishing them all the good luck attainable on their journey over life’s matrimonial sea.
