Burksville - Waterloo Times, Friday Feb 5, 1915 Miss Bertha Jaenke spent the weekend at home. Ernest Hesterberg was a caller at Waterloo Friday. Willie Susewind, our accommodating merchant was a caller at Waterloo Monday. Mrs. Philip Hamelmann and children of New Hanover visited friends here a few days ago. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Louer of Valmeyer spent the weekend with Mrs. Louer’s mother, Mrs. C. Zimmer. Miss Mary Tebbehoff of Waterloo visited the Misses Jaenke and while here attended the mask ball Saturday evening. The Masquerade ball given by the Young Men’s Social Club was enjoyed by all who attended in spite of the bad weather. Four prizes were awarded: Ladies best, Miss Clara Joseph; most comic, Mrs. Henry Sprankel; Gent’s best, Willie Susewind; Gent’s comic, George Schrader.
