Jacob Satter served in the 49th Regiment Illinois Infantry Volunteers,  Co. a. Waterloo. Enlisted as a Private September 5, 1861, re-enlisted as Veteran January 1, 1864, wounded April 9, 1864 at Pleasant Hill, LA.  Mustered out on September 9, 1865. Served under Col. Wm. R. Morrison.

Jacob Satter,  age 19, single.  Occupation tinner, born in Germany.  Died November 4, 1911, Kohlmer Cemetery, Waterloo, Illinois

Married September 15, 1867 to Caroline Bier.  He was the son of Harry P. Satter,. Grandfather of  George Satter (grandfather of Ruth Satter Sondag).  Great-grandfatherof Geoffery Satter, Karin (Satter) Taylor, Debra Satter and James Sondag and Elizabeth Anne Sondag.
