Pieper, Marian C. nee Sumnler

Marian C. Pieper nee Sumnler, 86, of Waterloo, died Aug. 15, 2007, 
in Waterloo. She was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Rector, Ark., the 
daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Sumnler nee Miller. She is 
survived by her children Carol Parker, formerly of  Smithton, William 
(Marilyn) Boyd of Columbia, Donna (Stewart) Frisch of Las Vegas, 
Nev., and Kathryn Harres of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; brother James Sumnler of Florida; and many nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 
her daughter Betty Sedlack and sisters Maxine Raker and Anna Stein. 
Ms. Pieper was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in 
Columbia. She was retired as a seamstress for Carle Inc. in St. Louis. 
She was a member of Columbia Senior Citizens and was an avid bridge 
player. A memorial service was at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 
Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. Memorials may be made to Columbia 
Public Library.
