Braun, Eugene W. 

Eugene W. Braun, 84, of Hecker, died May 31, 2007, in Red Bud. 
He was born Oct. 31, 1922, in St. Louis the son of the late William 
F. and Catherine Braun nee Hoffmann. He was married to the late 
Irma F. Braun nee Wittenauer. Mr. Braun is survived by his children 
Barbara (Garry) Matzenbacher, Janice (Ken) Buettner, Thomas 
(Nancy) Braun, Daniel (Stephanie) Braun, and Mary (Tom) Lloyd; 
grandchildren Stephanie (Brad) Meyer, Adam Matzenbacher, Jonathan 
(fiancee Becky Thompson) Matzenbacher, Rhonda (fiancee Kevin 
Niemeier) Buettner, Michael Buettner, Matt Buettner, David Buettner, 
Mark Braun, Blake Braun, Andrew Braun, Timothy Braun, Robert 
Wagner and Jason Wagner; great-grandchildren Wesley Meyer and 
Henrey Meyer; sisters Elaine (Roland) Head and Mary Ann Landolt; 
and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He 
was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Braun was a member 
of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker. Visitation was at Quernheim 
Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was at St. Augustine Catholic Church in 
Hecker, Fr. Robert Gore officiating. He is buried at St. Augustine Cemetery 
in Hecker. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, the 
American Heart Association or Shriner’s Hospital.
