Lutz, Otis Otis Lutz, 87, of Waterloo, died February 10, 2006, in Waterloo. He was born December 31, 1918, in Waterloo, the son of the late Moritz and Luella Lutz nee Rexroth. He was married to Aurelia Lutz nee Reinhold. Mr. Lutz is survived by his wife; children Dennis (Christine) Lutz of University City, Mo., Robert (Martha) Lutz of Naples, Fla., and Glen (Sheryl) Lutz of Waterloo; grandchildren Dan Lutz, Jenny Lutz, Lauren-Nicole Lutz and Eric Lutz. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Warren Lutz, and sister-in-law Mildred Lutz nee Niebruegge. Mr. Lutz was Postmaster of the Waterloo Post Office for 28 years. He served on the Waterloo School Board for 19 years and was director of First National Bank of Waterloo for 43 years. He was a parliamentarian for National Postmasters Association, and was a member of the Waterloo American Legion. He was a member of the Waterloo Municipal Band, serving as drum major for many years, and was a charter member of VFW Post #6504. He was an avid golfer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. He is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Memorial at Lakeview Park or Oak Hill (Monroe County Care and Rehab Center).
