Obituary January 18, 1945 WATERLOO TIMES Mrs Philip Stahlschmidt Mrs. Mary Ann Stahlschmidt, nee Juelfs, beloved wife of Philip Stahlschmidt passed away at her home, near Renault on Sat., January 13, at 12:30 AM, after a short illness, aged almost 80 years. Deceased was born near Renault on Feb. 18, 1865 daughter of the late John and Mary Juelfs, nee Heller. She was twice married her first husband being John Spriestersbach, who preceeded her in death. To their union were born 3 children all of whom survive, as follows: George Spriesterbach of Dupo, and Mrs. Elizabeth Meier and Mrs. Louise Meier both of Burksville. She was then married to Philip Stahlschmidt who survives with three children born to their union: Sylvester and Miss Caroline at home and Joseph Stahlschmidt of East St. Louis. She also leaves 8 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren, one brother Henry Juelfs of St. Louis and 1 sister Mrs. Ed. Koch of Waterloo. The funeral took plact Tues. morn. Jan 16 from the Dashner funeral home Renault to the Renault Catholic Church where the Requiem mass was sung by Rev. J. Humma followed by internment in the Renault Catholic Cemetery. Mary Ann is my great-grandmother.
