The Waterloo Republic-Times, Dec. 17, 1980 John W. Ganley Died in Litchfield Funeral services were held December 12 for John (Jack) W. Ganley, 74, of Sorento, Ill., who died Dec. 9, 1980 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield after a long illness. Mr. Ganley, a former Waterloo resident, lived in Sorento the last 22 years. Father Oliver Reagan of St. Louis conducted the funeral service at 1:30 at the Perfetti funeral home in Sorento and burial was in Sunnyside cemetery, where military graveside services were held. Mr. Ganley was born July 11, 1906, in Waterloo to William and Sarah Ganley, nee Reagan. He was married Aug. 5, 1950 to Ruby Kirkland in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cannon, Mrs. Mary Grab, and Mrs. Margaret Grab, all of St. Louis, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta. Mr. Ganley was a sargeant in the army during World War II, and served from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of Kessinger Post No. 713 of the American Legion.
