The Waterloo Times June 18, 1913 O’LEARY Michael O’Leary a respected farmer residing three miles west of Red Bud died last Sunday evening at 10:30 o’clock. His illness extended over a period of several weeks and on last Monday he became worse and lingered until Sunday when he passed away at the age of 76 years. Deceased was born at Tralee, Ireland, and came to this country with his parents when eleven years of age. He spent the early portion of his life near Tiptown, Ills., where he worked on his fathers farm. At the age of 24 he left home and served in the army. Upon his return he was employed in East St. Louis which place he made his home for several years, He was united in marriage with Miss Mary DeLany and to this union nine children were born, three of which died in infancy. After leaving E. St. Louis Mr. and Mrs. O’Leary purchased a farm near Tiptown where they resided until Mrs. O’Leary’s death in 1911 when the farm was sold and he went to live with his son Frank, who has for sometime past resided on the Parrott farm west of town. Funeral services were held last Wednesday morning June 11, 1913 at the Catholic church in Tiptown by Rev.. Van de Riet and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. He leaves six children, Daniel, John, Frank, Anna, Mrs. Maggie Cavanaugh and Mrs. Joe Dunn, and brother Thos. O’Leary of East St. Louis, four sisters, Mrs. Michael Wall and Mrs. C.
