The Waterloo Republican September 1974 Mrs. Guttmann Funeral Tuesday Mrs. Christina Guttmann, 93, a lifelong resident of the Fults area died September 21, 1974, at St. Clement Hospital, Red Bud, where she had been a patient for nine days. Her funeral took place from the Quernheim Funeral Home with services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Renault, the Rev. James Long officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Guttmann was born June 19, 1881, near Fults, a daughter of Michael and Mary Kunkel, nee Vogel. She was the wife of the late Nickolaus Guttmann, who died December 7, 1931. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Charles (Lena) Schmieg of Waterloo; four sons, John Guttmann, Walter and Oscar Guttmann of R.R. 2, Fults, and George Guttmann of Belleville; six grandchildren; 26 great grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Rose) Oelzen of Columbia and Mrs. Bertha Ackerman of Dupo; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her husband were a daughter, Marie and a son, Henry.
