Obituary - ? newspaper CLARK Mrs. Eliza Clark, relict of Silas Clark, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Chris Fults, in St. Louis, on May 5, 1923, aged 79 years and 4 days. The deceased was a daughter of Joseph Hilton and a grand-daughter of Rev. Daniel Hilton, who was one of the pioneers of Monroe. She was born in New Design May 1, 1844 and had resided in Monroe county nearly all her life, with the exception of the last few years since the death of her husband. On Nov. 16, 1865, she was married to Silas Clark, who preceded her in death seven years ago. Of the family there survive one son Arthur of Collinsville, Mrs. Chris Fults and Mrs. Stella Cleer of St. Louis, and Mrs. Ella Bertram of St. Joe. She also leaves 25 grand-children and 13 great grand-children, also one sister Mrs. Mattie Rinaldo of Livermore, Calif. The remains were brot out to the old cemetery at New Design Monday where her father and mother and several brothers and sisters were laid to rest. Quite a number of friends and relatives attended the services which were conducted by Rev. Sharp of St. Louis. Submitted by Janet Flynn Gr-gr-granddaughter.
