Toenjes, Richard A. Richard A. Toenjes, 66, of Hecker, died October 7, 2005, in Columbia. He was born February 10, 1939, in Columbia, the son of the alt3e Leo and Rosella Toenjes nee Helfrich. He was married to Janice Toenjes nee Haudrich. He is survived by his wife; children Lynn Kwasney of Monroe Township, N.J., Lana (Brent) Culver of Montrose, Colo., Jeff (SuAnn) Toenjes of Red Bud, John P. (Dia) Toenjes of Waterloo, and Dean (Ingrid) Toenjes of Waterloo; grandchildren Nicole Kwasney, Angela Kwasney, Janel Culver, Corey Toenjes, Brooke Toenjes, Allie Crimm, Brent Toenjes and Lance Toenjes; sisters Marilyn Haudrich of Hecker and Linda (John) Fritsche of Swansea; Eugene (Cecilia) Toenjes of Columbia and Larry (Dona) Toenjes of Columbia; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Kreher, brother Donald E. Toenjes and brother-in-law Donald Haudrich. Mr. Toenjes was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker. He served as a board member of the Hecker Community Center and was a 40 year member of the Carpenter’s Union of America. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Father Joe Hansmann officiating. He is buried at St. Augustine Cemetery in Hecker. Memorials may be made in the form of masses.
