Stumpf, Esther A. Esther A. Stumpf nee Nobbe, 85, December 20, 2005, of St. Louis, was born June 9, 1920, in Valmeyer. She was married to the late Charles Stumpf. She is survived by her children Marlene Marquardt of Waterloo, LaVerne (Keith) Mentel of Osage Beach, Mo., Ronald (Sandi) Stumpf of Waterloo, Roger (Susan) Stumpf of Waterloo, and Richard (RuAnne) Stumpf of Waterloo; David Stumpf, Robert Stumpf, Lisa Mentel, Michael Mentel, Steven Marquardt, John Marquardt, James Marquardt, Jeremy Marquardt, Bradley Stumpf, Amanda Stumpf and Charles Stumpf; great-grandchildren Dustin Wedel, Kayla Marquardt, Alex Marquardt, Boean Marquardt, Bryce Marquardt, Lindsy Marquardt, Gillian Marquardt, Alexis Stumpf and Adam Stumpf; sisters Ruth Offermann and Edna Rabbermann; brother Roy Nobbe; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Marvin Marquardt, grandchild Marvin Marquardt, great-grandchild Madeline Marquardt, and brother Louis Nobbe. Mrs. Stumpf was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo. She was retired from MAR Graphics and had worked at Knaust Mushroom Farm. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved quilting, sewing, her plants and her family. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. She is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
