Johanning, Esther M. nee Jacobs
Esther M. Johanning nee Jacobs, 92, of Fults, died December 9, 2005, in Belleville. 
She was born January 31, 1913, in Renault, the son of the late Henry and Wilhelmina 
Jacobs nee Kaestner. She was married to the late Walter A. Johanning. She is survived 
by her children Arlyn Widenhoefer of Albuquerque, N.M., Cletus (Frances) Johanning 
of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Wayne (Therese) Johanning of Waterloo; grandchildren Scott 
Widenhoefer, Sheri (Lawrence) Martinez, Michelle (Mark) Blalock, and Nathan Johanning; 
great-grandchildren Veronica, Dominic, Michael, Melissa, Matthew and Conner; brothers 
Vernon (Alvera) Jacobs of Waterloo, Henry (Darlene )Jacobs of Columbia, Melvin (Pat) 
Jacobs of Kirkwood, Mo., sister-in-law Elsie Offermann of Lena; and nieces, nephews
and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nelda Jacobs, 
brothers Otto Jacobs and Wilmer Jacobs, and son-in-law Norman Widenhoefer. She was a 
member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault. She was a member of Ladies Aid and 
Waterloo Senior Center. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were 
at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault, Pastor Ralph Laufer officiating. She is buried at Holy 
Cross Cemetery in Renault. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault 
or KFUO Radio Station.
