Johanning, Alois Walter
Alois Walter Johanning, 78, of Waterloo, died July 28, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born May 31, 1927, 
in Maeystown, the son of the late Alvin and Alma Johanning nee Vallowe. He was married Delores C. 
Johanning nee Muertz. He is survived by his wife; daughters Karen Johanning of Waterloo and Sue (Tom) 
Nilges of Waterloo; son Jeff (Janell) Johanning of Red Bud; grandchildren Crystal Nilges, Paul Nilges, 
Jeremy Johanning, and Jodie Johanning; sister Alma Williams of Mt. Home, Ark.; and a brother, sisters-in-law, 
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Johanning. 
Mr. Johanning was a laborer with Local #196. He was a member of Maeystown Sportsman’s Club and 
Waterloo VFW. Visitation was at DeFabio Funeral Home. He is buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery 
in Madonnaville.
