Carle, Dorothy A. nee Lemen
Dorothy A. Carle nee Lemen, 94, of Columbia, died April 23, 2005, in Town & Country, Mo. 
She was born January 2, 1911, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Lemen nee Buettner. 
She married the late John Carle in 1927; he died in 1979. She is survived by her sons John J. (Linda) 
Carle of Columbia and Arthur G. (JoAnn) Carle of St. Louis; daughter Margaret (Ron) Wallace of 
Belleville; grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Luhr, Steven Wallace, Kevin (Peggy) Carle, Carole 
(Delbert) Paris, Linda (Jeff) Buss, Rita Wallace, John J. Carle Jr., Elizabeth Wallace and Michael 
(Julie) Carle; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Louis (Marjorie) Carle, great-granddaughter 
Amy Buss, brothers Sylvester Lemen and Harvey Lemen, and a sister in infancy. Mrs. Carle was a 
member of Columbia Senior Citizens, Jefferson County VFW Auxiliary, and was a Jefferson Barracks 
VA Hospital volunteer. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home, William Groennert 
and Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating. She is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Memorials 
may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Immaculate Conception 
Catholic Church building fund, or Christ Community Church building fund.
