Towzen, Carl Eugene
Carl Eugene Towzen, 63, of Valmeyer, died October 2, 2004, in Valmeyer. He was 
married to JoAnn Towzen nee Lovitz; she survives him. Mr. Towzen was born 
September 18, 1941, in Granite City, the son of Lee Carl Edward Towzen and the 
late Irene Towzen nee White. He is survived by his father; wife; children Teena 
(Alex) Riechmann, of Waterloo, Carl Jr. (Dana) Towzen, of Valmeyer, and Kimberly 
Sampim, of Fairview Heights; grandchildren Clara Riechmann, Andrew Towzen, 
Aaron Towzen, Alex Towzen, Ryan Phillips and Chad Phillips; brothers Gary (Cora) 
Towzen, of S. Rozana, and Mark (Denise) Towzen, of Madison; sister Beverly (Joe) 
Lueckinig, of Venedy; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was 
preceded in death by his mother and brother Brian Towzen. Mr. Towzen was an 
electrician at Metro East Industries in East St. Louis. Visitation and funeral services 
were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Stuart Rethwisch officiating. Memorials 
may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
