Schaefer, Helen L. nee Garleb
Helen L. Schaefer, nee Garleb, 91, of Waterloo died Oct. 17, 2003. She was the wife of the 
late Clarence A. Schaefer. Mrs. Schaefer was born Nov. 24, 1911 the daughter of the late 
Herman August and Emma Amelia Garleb nee Stemler. Survivors include two sisters, Vera 
Pflasterer and Leona Frank; and one brother Oliver Garleb. She was active in many organizations 
including the Fair Association, the Farm Bureau and the Home Extension. Visitation was at the 
Quernheim Funeral Home where a funeral was conducted Oct. 10 the Rev. David Riebeling 
officiating. Burial was at St. John Cemetery, Valmeyer.
