Obit Ramirez, Vincent Vincent “Vince” Ramirez, 66, of Columbia, formerly of Nashville, died March 6, 2005, at his residence. He was born April 23, 1938, in Swea City, Iowa, the son of the late Marcos and Mercedes Ramirez nee de La Cruz. He was married to Rosemary “Teddi” Ramirez nee Rice. He is survived by his wife; children Rhonda Kelly of Rocky Mountain, Mo., Allen (Rosa) Ramirez of Edmond, Okla., Kathleen Ramirez of Fulton, Mo., Robert (Corina) Ramirez of Collinsville, Bryan (Martha) Marshalek of Millstadt, David (Cam) Marshalek of Justin, Texas, and Keith (Tamara) Marshalek of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Lupe (Gene) Simmons, Louisa (Bob) Palmer, Angie Ramirez, Julie Ramirez and Madeline Ramirez; and brothers Juan (Chris) Ramirez and Marcos (Sherry) Ramirez. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jose Ramirez, Philip Ramirez and Sal Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He had served as pastor at Dewey Avenue United Methodist Church in Granite City and was pastor of the Latino Initiative of the Illinois Great River District. He was retired from A.O. Smith in Granite City and owned TIOS Transportation in Nashville. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services were at Bethany United Methodist Church. He is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
