Powers, Dorothy Mae 
Dorothy Mae (Mottley) Powers, 79, of Columbia died Oct. 30, 2003. She was the wife of the late 
James W. Powers. Mrs. Powers was born Oct. 7, 1924 at Millersburg, IN the daughter of the late 
Gilbert and Mary (Splittorff) Mottley. Survivors include a son James (Gloria) Powers; two sisters, 
Helen (Vernon) Phillips and Ellen Barnett; a brother Charles Mottley; two grandchildren and two 
great grandchildren. She was a caregiver for Copper Bend Sitters and a member of Trinity General 
Baptist Church. Visitation was at the Lawlor Funeral Home where a funeral was Saturday, Nov. 1. 
A second funeral was Nov. 3 with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN.
