Obit Klohr, Ella nee Sparwasser Ella Klohr nee Sparwasser, 97, of Waterloo, died March 3, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born February 1, 1908, in Wartburg, the daughter of the late George and Katharina Sparwasser nee Baltz. She was married to the late Herman Klohr. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (LeRoy) Trost of Sparta; grandchildren Dr. Lori Trost (Ed) Siemers of Waterloo, Dr. John (Kim) Trost of Springfield; Mrs. Amy (Matthew) McClure of Wildwood, Mo., and Mark (Becky) Trost of Millstadt; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great- grandchildren; sister Emma (Albert) Trost of Millstadt; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Meta Sparwasser and Elsie Schneider, brothers Arthur Sparwasser, Harry Sparwasser, Elmer Sparwasser Sr., Edwin Sparwasser and Roy Sparwasser, and foster brother George Bauer. Mrs. Klohr was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo. She volunteered at the Monroe County Nursing Home and was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Valmeyer American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star for more than 50 years, and Hungry Eight Card Club, which gathered monthly for 65 years. Her love of music, playing cards and family vacations will always be remembered. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Tom Corum officiating. She is buried at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer. Memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or Heartland Hospice.
