Hustedde, Fr. Edwin H.
Fr. Edwin H. Hustedde, 74, died June 6, 2004, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Fr. Hustedde 
was born October 14, 1929, at Breese, the son of the late Edwin G. and Cecilia Hustedde nee 
Sherman. He is survived by sisters Margaret Beckmann and Mary Therese (Tom) Molitor; 
brother Richard (Roselyn) Hustedde; sister-in-law Clare Hustedde; nieces Karen Harrell, Michelle 
Netemeyer, Beth O’Connor, Lynn de Weck and Nicole Gray; and nephews Glenn Beckmann and 
Mark Molitor. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerome Hustedde. Fr. Hustedde 
attended St. Henry’s Prep School, St. Mary of the Lake Seminary and St. Louis University. He 
was ordained a priest in 1959, and was superintendent of SS. Peter and Paul School and was 
appointed principal of Gibault High School in 1967. In 1983 he became pastor of St. Anthony’s in 
Beckmeyer. He returned to Gibault in 1993 to serve as director of development, where he worked 
until 2002. He also served as pastor of St. Mary’s in Valmeyer and Immaculate Conception in 
Madonnaville until his death. Visitation was at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Mass of 
Resurrection was at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, officiated by Bishop Wilton D. Gregory. 
He is buried at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Breese.
