Edler, Alfred C. 
Alfred C. Edler, 81, of Chalfin Bridge, died August 11, 2004, in Chalfin Bridge. Mr. Edler 
was married to Marlow Edler nee Kuergeleis; she preceded him in death. He was born 
May 28, 1923, the son of the late Charles and Rose Edler nee Hartmann. He is survived by 
his children Don (Ellen) Edler, of Waterloo, and Bob (Judith) Edler, of Valmeyer; grandchildren 
Brian Edler, Brad Edler, Luke Edler and Emily Edler; sister Florence Maronn, of Kewanee; 
and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Edler 
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown. A memorial service was 
held at St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown, Pastor Ivan Horn officiating. In 
accordance with Mr. Edler’s wishes, his body was donated to Washington University Medical 
Center. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. John United Church 
of Christ.
