Obit Candler, Gertrude M. Gertrude M. Candler nee Dougherty, 89, of Maeystown, died March 5, 2005, in Town & Country, Mo. She was born December 22, 1915, in Red Bud, the daughter of the late John and Bridget Marie Dougherty nee Powderly. She was married to the late Robert Candler. She is survived by her children Bonnie (Frank) Johnson of Carthage, Miss., Stephen (Anne) Candler of Maeystown, and Phyllis (John) Hoefft of Maeystown; grandchildren Chastity Johnson, Chad Johnson, Angela (Jim) Manning, Jennifer (Eric) Seidler, Sarah (Dan) Thieret, Julie (Eugene) Huebner, and Tina Marie Hoefft; great- grandchildren Griffin Seidler, Logan Seidler and Sophia Seidler; and brother Bernard Dougherty. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Jim Dougherty, Leo Dougherty, Johnny Dougherty, Louis Dougherty and William Dougherty, and sisters Kathryn Pashia, Marcella Shields and Gervase Mary Schmidt. Mrs. Candler was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Renault, and the Renault American Legion. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Fr. Roger Karban officiating. She is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
