Obit Mund, Gloria Esther nee Hoffmann Gloria Esther Mund nee Hoffmann, 60, of Waterloo, died October 9, 2004, in Waterloo. She was married to Lionel “Lonnie” Mund; he survives her. Mrs. Mund was born February 20, 1944, in Red Bud, the daughter of the late Gustav and Hilda Hoffmann nee Schultheis. She is survived by her husband; children Gene Mund (and friend Barbara Esker) of Prairie du Rocher, Gay Lea (James) Mund-Roush of Waterloo, Monica (Marc) Hunter of Waterloo, and Sherry (Steven “Stick”) Walter of Evansville; grandchildren Lucas Mund, Cody Crossin, Garrett Crossin, Kyle Cooley, Nikki Mund, Jarett Roush Rainna Roush, Grace Walter, Matthew Hunter and Jessica Hunter; brothers Richard (Marilyn) Hoffmann of Fults, and Marvin (Catherine) Hoffmann of Fults; sisters Verne (Arthur) Trost of Waterloo, and Pearl Graves, of Dixon, Mo.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lewis Hoffmann. Mrs. Mund was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joe, where she was president of the church board, president of the Women’s Fellowship, sponsor of the Youth Fellowship, a member of the quilters, a substitute organist and a church choir member. She was a retired school bus driver, which she did for 20 years, and she led the Bushy Prairie 4-H club for 39 years. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at Zion United Church of Christ, Pastor Nancy Spier-Lee, Pastor Ivan Horn and Pastor Glenn Davis officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Hoyleton Children’s Home or Kindercottage.
