Auto Accident Fatal To Young Man

Charles Mosbacher, 19, son of Mrs. John Mosbacher of near East Carondelet, 
was killed in an auto accident early Thursday morning on a curve about a mile 
north of Columbia on Route 3.  His car is believed to have done out of control.

The young man was pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Mary’s Hospital, East 
St. Louis, about 3:15 Thursday morning.

With him were Shirley Carron, 15, who suffered a concussion and possible fractured 
pelvis and Betty Hofstetter, 17, who suffered a neck injury.  All were from the East 
Carondelet area.
