The Waterloo Republican Wednesday April 5, 1922 Page 1 Col 3 Deaths - Demint The friends of Mrs. Caroline Demint will be apined to learn of her death, which occurred Monday afternoon at the family home. While she had been on the sick list for a long time she had appeared unusually better just a few hours before her death. The funeral will take place Thursday morning, with services in SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, of which she was a life long member. The deceased was a member of one of our pioneer families, a most lovable woman who was admired and respected by all. She was born in New Design, Feb. 22, 1848. In her early years the family removed to Waterloo, where, on September 18, 1870, she was married to Judge William T. Demint. Mrs. Demint was a most estimable lady of pleasing character, an ideal wife and mother, very social in her ways, a splendid neighbor, and liberal and generous to all. She was an earnest and conscientious member of the Catholic church and church societies among them Mary and Martha and the Rosary. She was a charter member of the Columbian Club in which she took great interest even to the last, and was chairman of the Hospital Supplies of the Red Cross which was perhaps her last effort in alleviating unfortunate sufferers. Besides husband she leaves one son Louis, and one daughter Mrs W W Mitchell, and seven grand-children. She also leaves two brothers, Geo. Durfee of Arcadia, Mo., and Judge F. Durfee and one sister Mrs. Sophia Brey, of this city. Submitted by Barbara Coakley Dallas TX
