E. C. Asselmeier Died at Hospital

Eugene C. Asselmeyer, 57, R.R. 1, Fults, died June 19, 1984 at Memorial Hospital 
in Belleville. He was the husband of Melba Asselmeier, nee Altes.

  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John United Church of Christ 
in Maeystown, the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 
His body will lie in state after 7 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Quernheim Funeral 
Home in Waterloo until 11 a.m. Friday.

  Mr. Asselmeier was born June 27, 1926 near Monroe City, Ill., a son of Albert and 
Lydia Asselmeier, nee Heusohn. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sheryl 
Asselmeier of Fults; two sons, Dennis and Dwight Asselmeier, both of Waterloo; 
two daughters-in-law, Jane and Kathy Asselmeier; three grand children, Matthew, 
David, and Katrina Asselmeier, mother, Mrs. Lydia Asselmeier, Valmeyer; two 
sisters, Mrs. Fred (Wilma) Johnson of Waterloo, and Mrs. Clarence (Twila) Feldmeier 
of Fults; mother-in-law, Amanda Altes of Waterloo; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, 
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Maeystown and Maeystown 
Sportsman Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Asselmeier, and 
father-in-law, Sylvester Altes.
