Asselmeyer, 57, R.R. 1, Fults, died June 19, 1984 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was the husband of Melba Asselmeier, nee Altes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown, the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. His body will lie in state after 7 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo until 11 a.m. Friday. Mr. Asselmeier was born June 27, 1926 near Monroe City, Ill., a son of Albert and Lydia Asselmeier, nee Heusohn. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sheryl Asselmeier of Fults; two sons, Dennis and Dwight Asselmeier, both of Waterloo; two daughters-in-law, Jane and Kathy Asselmeier; three grand children, Matthew, David, and Katrina Asselmeier, mother, Mrs. Lydia Asselmeier, Valmeyer; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Wilma) Johnson of Waterloo, and Mrs. Clarence (Twila) Feldmeier of Fults; mother-in-law, Amanda Altes of Waterloo; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Maeystown and Maeystown Sportsman Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Asselmeier, and father-in-law, Sylvester Altes.
