Stoeckel, Margaret H.

Margaret H. Stoeckel, 75, of Waterloo, formerly of Millstadt, died Sept. 17, 2007, 
in St. Louis. She was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Columbia, the daughter of the late 
Alonzo and Theresa Becherle nee Selzer. She was married to the late Joseph A. 
Stoeckel. Mrs. Stoeckel is survived by her children Joseph (Sue) Stockel of Russellville, 
Ark., Steven (Ange) Stoeckel of O’Fallon, James (Cheryl) Stoeckel of Villa Ridge, 
Mo., Lois (Ray) Martinez of Sacramento, Calif., and Marie (Darrell) Scharf of Millstadt; 
grandchildren Raymond Martinez, Jason Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Sarah Stoeckel, 
Alex Stoeckel, Jennifer (Donald) James, Patrick (Theresa) Johnson, Betse Stoeckel, 
Maggie Stoeckel Steven Stoeckel III, Dustin Scharf, Nicole Stoeckel and James “JJ” 
Stoeckel Jr.; great-grandchildren Samantha Feldman, Sasha Martinez, Dillon Johnson, 
and Alyson Johnson (Brandon Rogers); siblings Ruth (the late Erwin) Herrmann of 
Millstadt, Carol (Calvin) Fries of Columbia, and Lawrence (Betty) Becherle of Columbia; 
and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 
her parents, husband, daughter Linda C. Lehr, and brother Andy Becherle. Mrs. Stoeckel 
was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt and the St. James Perpetual 
Help Sodality and the Newman Auxiliary. She was a retired bookkeeper with 25 years 
of service with Roy Wolfmeier Trucking in Millstadt. Visitation was at Strauss Funeral 
Home in Millstadt. A funeral Mass was at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Fr. 
Marvin Volk officiating. She is buried at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Millstadt. 
Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt or Hospice of 
Bethesda Southgate in St. Louis.
