Sickmeier, Alice H. nee Meyer   Obit

Alice H. Sickmeier nee Meyer, 80, of Waterloo, died Jan. 18, 2007, in Waterloo. 
She was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Henry and 
Minnie Meyer nee Schmieg. She was married to the late Edward G. Sickmeier. 
Mrs. Sickmeier is survived by her daughter Judy (David) Laux of Cahokia; grand
children Michele (Thomas) Gatzert and Richard (Kari) Laux; great-granddaughter 
Brittney Schmid and Amanda Schmidt; step-great-grandchildren Thomas Gatzert Jr., 
Jennifer Gatzert, Frank Gatzert and Krista Kearny; siblings Irene Diercks, Rose Banks, 
and Willis “Butch” (Frances) Meyer; sisters-in-law Irene Sickmeier, Esther Meyer 
and Florence Meyer; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death 
by her parents; husband; son Jeffrey Sickmeier; and siblings Esther Sickmeier, Edgar 
Meyer, Roy Meyer, Elmer Meyer, Vera Meyer and Arthur Meyer. Mrs. Sickmeier 
was a member of Belleville Area College Senior Companions and Prairie du Rocher 
Improvement Association. Visitation and a funeral service were at Quernheim Funeral 
Home, Pastor Matt Friz officiating. She is buried at Burksville Cemetery in Burksville.
