FATALLY STRICKEN AFTER WEDDING OF GRANDDAUGHTER William M. Griffin, 72, of R.R. 1, Fults, died suddenly Saturday evening June 14, 1975. He became ill while attending his granddaughter’s wedding reception at the V.F.W. Hall in Waterloo, and an ambulance was summoned. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the St. Clement Hospital, Red Bud. His funeral took place from the Quernheim Funeral Home with services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Madonnaville, the Rev. Michael Maughan officiating. Burial was in the new SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Mr. Griffin was born June 30, 1902 at Harrisonville, a son of Louis and Lena Griffin, nee Wierschem. Before his retirement he was a warehouse superintendent in St. Louis. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Catherine Griffin, nee Shields; two sons, Jerry and Robert L. Griffin of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the funeral home. (Unknown paper and date, probably Waterloo paper)
