GREGSON, 65, RETIRED BALDWIN FARMER, IS DEAD Archibald James Gregson, 65, who resided a mile north of Baldwin until a month ago when he sold his farm equipment because of ill health died at 6:20 o'clock Saturday morning at St. John's hospital in St. Louis. He entered the hospital shortly after retiring from the farm. It is understood that his wife is also a patient at the hospital. The deceased was born in Monroe County, Nov. 9, 1878, a son of the late William and Alice Gregson, nee Dixon. His mother was a native of England and his father was born in Monroe County. He married Mayme Crowe in Red Bud in 1904. Besides his wife, he is survived by nine children; Victor and Thomas Gregson, both of East St. Louis; Archibald Gregson, Jr. Monterey Park, Calif.; Cpl Clyde Gregson, Kingman, Ariz.; Misses Irene and Ruth and Willis Gregson, all of St. Louis; Miss Lucille Gregson, Flint. Mich.; and Fern, wife of Elbert Wehrhiem, Baldwin. He also leaves a brother Joseph Gregson of Hecker, and four sisters; Mrs. Mary Trelfal of Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Criss Brown of Decatur Ill.; Mrs. Lara Renneker of Red Bud and Mrs. Alic Frick, also of Red Bud; and 12 grandchildren. The deceased was member of the Presbyterian Church in Baldwin. Funeral services were held Monday at the Presbyterian Church in Baldwin at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Spencer Ecker, pastor, officiated with Finger and Son funeral home in charge. Interment was made in the Baldwin cemetery.
