OBITUARY - Source Unknown. Mrs. Naomi A. Whiteside died at her home in Kimmswick, Missouri, Sunday, January 1, 1911, after an illness of a few days of paralysis, at the age of 71 years 3 months and 20 days. She was born near Marissa, Illinois, October 11, 1839. She was the daughter of Alexander and Sarah Miles. She leaves to mourn her demise three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Mary Austin of Pana, Illinois, Mrs. Clara Mitchell and Mrs. Joe Church of Marissa, Illinois, Alexander Miles of Kimmswick, Missouri, Adolph Miles of Rosamond, Illinois, Oscar Miles of East St. Louis, Illinois, Charlie Austin of Lenzburg, Illinois, also a number of nieces and nephews. She was married to Alonzo Miles, October 10, 1875 and moved to a farm near Eagle Cliff, Illinois where they resided until his death which occured February 22, 1877. She was married to her last husband, William Whiteside February 9, 1879. They resided on the farm for fourteen years and after having enough of the world's goods, they moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, where they resided for fourteen years and then moved to Kimmswick, Missouri, where Mr. Whiteside died July 28, 1907. She united with the Methodist church at Carondolet, Missouri in 1869 and was an active worker in the Sunday school and church. Funeral services were held at her residence Wednesday at 9 o'clock conducted by the Rev. McMine of the Presbyterian church. At her request she was taken to the old Miles Cemetery at Eagle Cliff, Monroe County, Illinois and laid to rest. Submitted by Kerry (Miles) Patrick
