January 27, 1904 The Waterloo Republican Tolin, Marion Marion Tolin, who has been indisposed for some weeks, died Sunday night Jan. 24, 1904, at the residence of his brother Mr. I. N. Tolin in this city. The deceased was well known, especially among the older ones. He was born on the Tolin farm in New Design, the eldest son of the late George Tolin. On June 14, 1858 he was married to Miss Anna Henley. The fruits of the union were: John of St. Louis, George of Waterloo, Mrs. N. Fleet of St. Louis, Mrs. R. Joseph of St. Louis, Frank of Millstadt, Harry, Louise of St. Louis. One baby died in infancy. About 1864 Mr. Tolin moved to Waterloo and managed the Monroe House one of the well known hotels in the early days. Of late years his health has not been of the best. A few weeks since he began to decline, and for the past few days his death had been expected. The remains were laid to rest in the Waterloo cemetery Tuesday at 2 o’clock.
