Schilling, Geo. H., 76 Obituary, Waterloo Republic, August 17, 1949 George H. Schilling, prominent farmer of east of Waterloo, died at his home last Wednesday, August 10, 1949. The deceased was born January 29, 1873, near Hecker and in August 1959 he was married to the former Magdalena Benedict, who survives him. He had reached the age of 76 years, six months and 11 days. Mr. Schilling had been a thresherman and operated a saw mill for years. His funeral took place Saturday morning from the Quernheim Funeral Home. Services were held by Rev. C. Hellrung in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with burial in the Catholic cemetery. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Sr. Ermenfrieda and Sr. Christine of Belleville, and Mrs. Martha Neary of Waterloo; a son, Ben, of Waterloo and two brothers Anselm Schilling of Dahlgreen and Joseph Schilling.
