Miles exec Account Current: Book E, Page 56 AMANDA WHEELER, LAST WILL AND TESTATMENT The last will and Testament of Amanda Wheeler of the County of Monroe and State of Illinois, witnesseth: That I Amanda Wheeler, though sick in Body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, after timely and due Consideration for months past, on what (?ought) to be right and just in the disposal of my Estate, both Real and personal, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament, in words and form following to wit: ITEM 1: I will that my just debts be paid. ITEM 2: I desire that my Executor, as soon as practicable, procure and have set up over the grave of myself and deceased husband, a marble monument, similar in size and style of the monument erected over the grave of my brother Truemann Miles Dec'd. and that he also, have a good substantial board fence, to be of dressed pine plank, cedar posts and well painted, erected or build, so as to enclose the graves of myselfs and family, at Eagle Cliffs Burying Ground on the Bluff, the expense of both monument and fence to be paid out of my Estate. ITEM 3: Whereas Stephen W. Miles Jr. and his Father have for years been attending, to the renting of my farm, and the loaning and collecting my monies, and having much trouble therewith, for which they have charged me scarcely anything, it is my will, that said Stephen W. Miles Jr. be allowed for their services, in my behalf as aforesaid, such sum or fees, as would be due them, as if the same had been done by them as Administrators of an Estate. ITEM 4: I give and bequeths unto my daughter Sally Ann (?Shell or Skell) of Pennsylvania, the sum of Five Dollars. ITEM 5: I give and bequethe unto my Daughter Esther Shook the sum of Five Dollars. ITEM 6: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Amanda (?Battles) the sum of Five Dollars. ITEM 7: I give and bequeath unto the Children of my son Amasa Wheeler Dec'd: three in number the sum of Five Dollars alltogether. ITEM 8: I give unto the son of my Daughter Olive Holmes the sum of Five Dollars. ITEM 9: I give unto the heirs of my son George Wheeler the sum of Five Dollars alltogether. ITEM 10: Whereas my Deceased Daughter Mary, lived with me, during her whole life, always ministering to my wants and necessities to the best of her ability, I in consideration of the kindness and assisstance which I received, at her hands, and also of her husband, do hereby give and bequethe, unto their Daughter, who is my Grand Daughter Elisabeth, Josephine Danner, all the Balance or Residue of my Estate, both Real and Personal which may be left or on hand after the payment of my Debts, and the Bequests in this my will, mentioned in Items, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9 and the payment of expenses of Administration, Hereby Constituting my said Grand Daughter Elisabeth, Josephine Danner, the General Residuary Legatee of this my last will and Testament. ITEM 11: I hereby appoint my Nephew, Stephen W. Miles Jr, the sole Executor of this my last will and Testament, and desire that he shall settle up my Estate, according to the provisions of this my will and Testament, and whatever there may remain, and thus coming to my Grand Daughter Elisabeth Josephina, shall be and continue to be loaned out at Interest upon Mortgage or ample Real Estate, for its Security, by Nephew the said S. W. Miles Jr. for the use and beniffit of my said Grand Daughter Elisabeth Josephine, and the original Sum, which may come to her from my Estate, and the intrest that may accrue thereon to be paid over to her, one half when she is twenty one years of age, and the other half when she is twenty five years of age.
