John Lepp of Columbia and William Buchmueller, a former Columbia boy, now of St. Louis, spent Saturday afternoon in Waterloo shaking hands with old friends. Mr. and Mrs. William Gregson of Hecker spent Saturday here the guests of Ed. Frick and family. While here Mr. Gregson dropped in to renew his subscription. Jacob H. Seyler of Valmeyer was a business visitor here Monday. Mrs. J.F. Siegel of St. Louis called upon friends here Wednesday. Dr. and Mrs. Hartie Livingstone of St. Louis spent Sunday here with relatives. Thomas Finnerty, clerk of school district 3-9 was among our callers Wednesday. Arthur Wolf, who now holds a position in Belleville spent Sunday here with home folks. Mrs. L. Moeller and daughter Miss Esther of Cleveland, Ohio, are visiting H. Killy and family this week. Mrs. Nick Mattels of St. Louis spent last week here as a guest of her sister’s folks, Mrs. Oscar W. Baebler. Mr. and Mrs. William Rupp and baby Florence, and Charles Weinreich spent the weekend with Peter Mauer and family. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hummelsheime and children of Afton, Mo., came over by auto Sunday to visit Miss Frances Schmidt. Edwin Schoening, Eugene Klein, Arthur Meyer and Walter Rapp, all of Columbia were visitors here Sunday afternoon. They came in the Scheening automobile. Robert and Steve McCormick and Lew Wallace of Valmeyer, also Stanley Anderson of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, were Waterloo visitors Tuesday. They came up in Steve’s auto. Joseph Miller of St. Louis was a Waterloo visitor Tuesday. Mrs. G.A. Leip of St. Louis spent Saturday in our city on business. William Hoffmann of St. Joe was among our callers Wednesday and renewed his subscription. Mrs. Fred Schmidt returned home Tuesday from East St. Louis and will spend the summer here. Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Killy and daughter Eleanora were at Belleville Sunday to visit Mrs. E. Borntrager who is seriously ill. Mrs. Fred Lieb returned home form St. Louis Wednesday evening where she spent the past four weeks undergoing treatment in a hospital. Mike Reitz and son Fred attended the concert given by the St. Louis Orchestra Club at the Central High School building in that city Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Schneider and baby spent several days in St. Louis this week the guests of Mrs. Schneider’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schmidt.
