The Waterloo Republican Thursday, March 8, 1900 A New Order A dozen of the leading young ladies of Waterloo have recently organized a Circle of the world renowned Order of King’s Daughters and Sons, whose beloved and respected president is Mrs. Margaret Bottome of New York City. The object of this organization shall be to “develop spiritual life and to stimulate Christian activities,” and so to carry out practically and more fully than would otherwise be possible this principles and work of the order in accordance with the Constitution of the International Order. The Order is non-sectarian. Any person may become a member of this Circle whose purpose and aims are in accord with its objects, and who holds herself to the King our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All members of the order in the State of Illinois by virtue of their membership in the International Order are members of the Illinois branch, whose headquarters are in Chicago. The following are the names of the officers for the present term and the enrollment members, thus far; Miss Emma Meyer, leader Miss Mary Moeller, vice leader Miss Josephine Rickert, secretary Miss Louise Oldendorph, tres.
