The Waterloo Republican May 3, 1900 MERRIMAC Mrs. John Prediger is slowly recuperating. Wm. Welsch came over the river Thursday on business. Green Crowder of Kimmswick was over here on business Tuesday. Wm. Goldsmith and family spent Sunday with relatives in Kimmswick. Fred Freimuth and wife visited relatives and friends near and in New Hanover. The Walnut Grove School will close Thursday, May 3, with an entertainment. The attendance is still good. Miss Ida Winders of Kimmswick whiled away the latter part of last week with her friend Miss Cinda O’Neil. Fred Mehan, one of the most progressive young teachers of St. Clair Co. spent Saturday with his uncle, Mr. Vogel. Louis A. Weihl held the lucky number 38. He won the guitar which was raffled by Monroe Raussan Saturday night.
