The Waterloo Times Friday, October 29, 1915 Philip Lilach of New Athens was run over by the 9 o’clock north bound passenger train last Wednesday morning and instantly killed. He was on his way to the coal mine for a load of coal when the accident occurred. The horses were both killed and the wagon demolished. Mr. Lilach with part of the wreckage were carried nearly a quarter mile before the train stopped. The train was making up lost time.
